Loving your new extensions? We get it — they’re gorgeous. But here’s the thing: with a little extra care, they’ll look even better, for longer. Take a few minutes to go over these tips, and your extensions will thank you by staying flawless for as long as possible.
CLEANSE GUIDE
01. Brush Before You Shower
Make sure to brush out your hair to remove tangles and prevent matting — trust us, it’ll save you time and headaches later.
02. Shampoo Smart
Use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to protect your color + extensions. We recommend Oribe, Milbon or Virtue — they’re the real deal.
03. Shampoo Gently
Gently lather shampoo through your natural hair and between your rows. Avoid scrubbing too harshly. A DOUBLE SHAMPOO is a great way to really cleanse your hair without over-drying. RINSE AFTER EACH SHAMPOO x2.
04. Rinse Thoroughly
Rinse your hair well, making sure to get rid of all the product. Leftover shampoo is not your friend.
05. Condition and Detangle
Apply your conditioner (again, Oribe is a top pick). Use a Wet Brush to distribute the conditioner evenly through your hair and extensions. This helps seal the cuticle and ensures no hair gets left behind.
06. Rinse Again
Thoroughly rinse out the conditioner. Leaving product in your hair is a rookie mistake—don’t do it!
07. Weekly Mask
Treat yourself with a weekly mask to hydrate and nourish your hair. It's like a spa day for your locks.
08. Towel Dry
Gently absorb excess water with a microfiber towel. Avoid rough drying, so you don’t damage your extensions.
BRUSH AND BLOW-DRY GUIDE
01. Brush Smart
Start with your Wet Brush at the ends of your hair and gently work your way up. Stop once you reach the top of the weft — no need to get too adventurous.
02. Sectioning Made Easy
Clip up everything except the natural hair beneath your bottom row. Start brushing that section, then drop the bottom row and brush it out. Move on to the hair between the rows, and finish with the top row for a flawless brush-out.
03. Heat Protectant
Apply a generous amount of Iles Formula #3 Finishing Serum. Think of it as armor for your hair — protection goes a long way.
04. Rough Dry
Rough dry your hair until it’s about 80% dry. Use only your hands — no need for brushes or combs yet. Keep it easy on the extensions!
05. Speed Things Up
Want to save some time? Section your hair into rows and dry them one at a time for quicker results.
06. Smooth Finish
For the final 20%, grab a round brush and use light tension to smooth out your hair and extensions. You’re almost done, and it’s looking great!
STYLING GUIDE
Protect your Hair
Always start with a heat protectant. Your hair and extensions deserve it.
Keep Temps Low
When using hot tools, stick to temperatures of 320°F or below. Less heat, more health.
Limit Styling
Keep heat styling to 2-3 times a week to prevent damage and keep your hair looking its best.
SLEEPING GUIDE
Brush Before Bed
Always brush your hair thoroughly and make sure it’s completely dry before hitting the pillow. No damp hair allowed.
Braid It
Do one or two loose braids, securing them with a silk scrunchie. If braids aren’t your thing, a loose low pony will work too.
Sleep Smart
Use a silk pillowcase or a silk bonnet to reduce frizz and keep your extensions in top condition.

Our Methods
At One Studio Salon, we specialize in customized extension methods that are perfectly tailored to your unique lifestyle and hair texture. Whether you choose hand-tied extensions or comb-line extensions, we take the time to carefully assess your natural hair's texture, density, and everyday routine.
Both methods are customized to ensure they blend perfectly with your natural hair, enhancing your beauty and working seamlessly with your day-to-day life—whether you're always on the go or love spending time on your style. The result? Gorgeous, natural-looking hair that's designed to suit you and your lifestyle.
For clients seeking natural, lightweight volume, hand-tied extensions are an excellent choice. These extensions offer a seamless, discreet look and are ideal for adding length and volume without adding bulk.
On the other hand, comb-line extensions are a highly specialized, ultra-lightweight method that’s perfect for front hairlines or thinning areas. This method adds volume in spots that may be difficult to address with traditional hand-tied extensions, giving a fuller, more balanced look in those areas.
